The Board
The Board has up to ten Directors and it is responsible for the residual management of the business of the Association. Its membership is comprised of the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the Association (as above), the Chairman of the three Association executive groups (as below), the Chief Executive and up to three co opted additional members who are appointed as and when deemed appropriate.
Council
The management of the affairs of the Association is vested in the Council. Meetings of Council are presided over by the Chairman of the Association. The Council meets five times per year and its membership comprises representatives from each member company. There is also a representative from each of the affiliated regional associations.
Executive Groups
There are three Executive Groups as follows:
- Brand Owners & Brewers Group (Chairman - Jonathan Neame - Shepherd Neame Ltd)
- Pub & Leisure Group (Chairman – Ralph Findlay – Marstons plc)
- Communications Group (Chairman – Simon Townsend – Enterprise Inns plc)
The membership of each Group comes from representatives of Association member companies and other industry bodies as appropriate.
Each group meets five times a year to discuss and agree the way forward on issues relevant to the industry in their specific areas of concern and to make recommendations on these issues to the Board and Council.
Subject to ultimate approval by the Board and or Council as appropriate each Group has the responsibility for budgetary control over their areas of operation. The groups are advised as required by specialist panels and working groups.
