Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme

HMRC have published a briefing pack for businesses affected by the Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme. This is relevant to all businesses that trade in duty paid alcohol in the UK, including brewers and pubs. The deadline for registering has now passed. From April 1st 2017, companies, and also individual pubs, buying alcohol from UK wholesalers to sell on to their own customers will be legally obliged to ensure the wholesaler registered under the scheme. Failure to do so could result in criminal or civil penalties, or seizure of alcohol.
