Manual Handling Guidance

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 apply to all manual handling operations which may cause injury at work, including drinks delivery. In the brewing and pub sector manual handling of full, part-full or empty casks and kegs, gas cylinders, boxes and cases – whether on the dray lorry or within a cellar – presents a risk of injury.

The BBPA has produced guidance to address manual handling injuries including consideration of mechanical handling options where practicable.

The guidance is available to purchase from the BBPA shop.
