Pub is the Hub

Pub is the Hub is a voluntary initiative that encourages pub owners, licensees and the community to work together to provide much needed local services.

Examples of Pub is the Hub activity include in-pub convenience stores, post office facilities and provisions for schemes such as Locals Online, which offers internet access and IT training to isolated communities.

For those interested in Pub is the Hub and its aims, a good practice guide has been produced in association with the BBPA. The guide provides practical ideas to raise awareness of the ways in which rural pubs can diversify their business, while at the same time benefiting the surrounding community. The guide includes detailed case studies of 12 rural pubs, which illustrate the variety of schemes undertaken by licensees across the country.

The good practice guide is available to download at the Pub is the Hub website below.
