Timothy Taylor & Co Ltd

Timothy Taylor’s has been brewing award winning cask beers in Keighley since 1858. The brewery remains in the Taylor family and is now the last independent brewery of its type left in West Yorkshire.

Quality is at the heart of the Taylor’s philosophy and this results in premium beers that deliver on taste every time. A fact that doesn’t go unrecognised by the loyal band of Taylor’s drinkers. Several unique elements help to make Timothy Taylor’s beers so special.

Only the finest grade, traditional, whole hopes are used, priming sugar is still added to give zest and condition to sparkling beers, and the yeast is a unique strain to Timothy Taylor’s which has evolved over 1700 generations to give beers of consistent quality.

Further to that, Timothy Taylor’s use Golden Promise Barley which is grown specifically for the brewery to a strict specification in Scotland and the Borders. A vital component in the brewing process is water. Timothy Taylor’s has their own well that draws this unique liquor from deep under the Pennines. All these quality ingredients coupled with a lengthy maturation process result in well rounded, flavoursome beers that Timothy Taylor’s are known for.

5 beers are available all year round. Landlord, a classic 4.3% pale ale and the flagship brew, Boltmaker, a 4.0% well balanced, genuine Yorkshire Bitter and current CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain, Golden Best, a 3.5% true Pennine light mild, Dark Mild, a 3.5% rich, creamy dark mild and Ram Tam, a 4.3% dark, strong beer that is wholesome and satisfying.
