Personal licences - BBPA comments on Home Office consultation

12/09/13

Commenting on the launch of a consultation on personal licences by the Home Office today, Brigid Simmonds, BBPA Chief Executive, said:

“We welcome the recognition from the Minister that local pubs play a positive role in communities and drive growth. We support the Government’s intention to free up responsible pub businesses and reduce costs, and we will be looking at these proposals in detail and discuss their potential impact with our members.”

Notes to editors:

The British Beer & Pub Association is the UK’s leading organisation representing the brewing and pub sector. Its members account for 96 per cent of the beer brewed in the UK and around half of Britain’s 50,000 pubs.
