BBPA Academy

From hops to HR, the BBPA Academy will give graduates the opportunity to gain a breadth of experience with the guidance of industry experts, while focusing on their own professional development.

We are proud to have launched a one-of-a-kind sector-wide graduate scheme in collaboration with some of the UK’s leading pub companies and breweries.

We’re excited to launch the British Beer and Pub Association’s Academy – a pubs and brewing industry graduate scheme which welcomed the first cohort in September 2026.

The Academy’s two-year scheme consists of four separate six-month development modules undertaken in one of the participating companies, each of which includes working in the industry, training courses, and other activities.

We are proud to have as our participating companies for 2026’s intake: Molson Coors Brewing Company UK, Greene King, Star Pubs, Admiral Taverns, McMullen, Everards, Adnams, Timothy Taylor’s Brewery and St. Austell Brewery.

Each programme is personally tailored to the graduate’s development, based on a framework that ensures individuals learn all necessary skills and gain a wide breadth of experience.

What graduates can expect to get out of the BBPA Academy experience

Learn: Develop knowledge through structured learning, workplace experience and industry insight

Develop: Build professional skills, confidence and leadership capability through training and mentoring.

Experience: Work across different business functions and gain practical, hands-on experience.

Lead: Apply your learning to real business challenges and prepare for a successful career in the brewing and pub industry.

“I’m so delighted to be working with the BBPA and Su Cacioppo who have been instrumental in bringing this idea to life. The idea was to seek out future leaders and give much-needed career paths for graduates across the country, and I’m proud of the way the industry has come together to support this initiative.

I genuinely hope this provides an outstanding career for ten graduates from next September that will continue for many years to come so we can leave a legacy for the future.”
