Brewers and pubs are a vital part of Britain’s tourism offering

From providing accommodation and memorable experiences to showcasing British beer and hospitality, the sector helps attract visitors, increase spending and support local economies.

Tourism creates significant opportunities for pubs and brewers, from overnight stays and brewery visits to the demand for British beer from customers at home and overseas. According to Tourism Alliance the visitor economy contributes £147 billion to the UK economy, supports 2.4 million jobs and generates £52 billion in tax each year. With pubs found in communities across the country, the sector is closely connected to how people experience Britain’s towns, cities and rural destinations.

BBPA works to ensure that tourism policy supports the long term success of pubs and breweries. Our priorities include creating a competitive environment for hospitality, strengthening Britain’s tourism offer and ensuring that visitor levies across England, Wales and parts of Scotland, do not place unnecessary burdens on businesses.
